José Quintanar (Madrid, Spain) is an artist based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His practice explores the book as a primary space for drawing, approaching it both as a game and as a structured process.
He is represented by Florence Loewy Gallery (Paris).
Currently a Ph.D. researcher at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, his thesis investigates The Book as Public Space.
His publications include Dutch Landscape (Rollo Press, 2024) and Good Morning (Terry Bleu, 2021). He has received accolades such as Most Beautiful Swiss Books 2025, the Prix Unique du Livre (Bienal de Chaumont, 2024), and was nominated for the Bob Calle Prix 2025.
His recent exhibitions include “Dutch Landscape 21–23” at Florence Loewy Gallery, Paris (Apr–Jun 2025), and “Dutch Landscape.
